Mother's Day Cards

Getting more Mother's Day cards done.
Check this one out:

This one available here: http://www.gcuniverse.com/Francoise

It's my mother's store. I use her photography to create cards.
She's got some amazing stuff there, and much, much more to come.

The other thing keeping me busy is continuing my T-shirt making for the Zazzle Great Outdoors gallery. The previously posted waterskier is in that category as well.
I must say, they are coming out rather nicely, if I may say so myself.

This design is available in 4 colors. I just really enjoy coloring and will often want to work out different color schemes.
These are available here: http://www.zazzle.com/RiverbyNight

Ok then, I've got a newsletter to put out. Oh, did you want to get it?

IF: Theater and other sketches

IF Theme is theater this week. Right away I thought of my little cat that likes to sit on my desk with her elbows on the window sill: the neighborhood is her theater.

These next two sketches are just for fun. I'm making greeting cards for Mother's Day and Father's Day and was playing around with ideas.

Mother's Day coming up

Mother's Day is right around the corner.
Here is a card I made for the occasion, available through my Greeting Card store.

I also have French, Spanish, and German version...

The funny thing is, I made these foreign language cards as an after thought, not thinking much of it, and I've actually sold several French and German cards already!

You should also check out my Mom's card store. She's got amazing photography that we are slowly but surely using to create wonderful cards with.

Not to worry, her store and my store are linked -see left hand column listed as "favorite card store."

What a weekend

It's been an absolute GREAT weekend!

I had a table at ComicFest 2009 in Denver -the first- and had a great time selling my comic books, prints, posters, and a few on-the-spot sketches.

I also colored my waterskier in 4 different color schemes, soon to appear on all sorts of fun stuff like T-shirts, mugs, magnets, mouse pads, etc. This is done with good old fashion color pencils, by the way.

Check often as more gear will be created over the next few days (and weeks) in the Great Outdoors gallery.

Here's 2 out of the 4.
Enjoy :)

IF: Fleeting & Wakeboarding

This took me a couple hours to do today, as I was subbing at the middle school.

The kids were busy watching WestSide Story, so I thought I'd make good use of my time.

IF theme: Fleeting.
In a fleeting moment, the
waterskier was gone.

Next step is a couple color versions and a watercolor background.

Then, it's off to Zazzle in the Great Outdoors section for some fun gear and posters -and the first for water sports!

P.S. I was told this guy is on a water ski, and is therefore not a "wakeboarder" but a "waterskier." Noted and amended. :D

sketchCrawl #22

Today is Sketchcrawl #22.

I've been wanting to take part in one of these for a while now, unfortunately, after several warm Spring days it's rather chilly again here in northern Colorado.

I took my scooter out for a ride to see what I could do.

I must say I was feeling rather self-conscious and would much prefer doing this with a group -actually, that's part of the point, only I don't know any other artists here yet.

So... here is my lonely sketch of a little historic church downtown.

I got a little chilled and did not stay long. Still, my first SketchCrawl participation! I'm happy. :D

For next one I'll seek out other artists and get a group going for sure. It's a learning process, what can I say.

Once Upon A Knight

I've been meaning to post the finished piece for this, so here it is.

I really enjoy having something to color in the evening -sort of a nice way to wind down and relax. Very meditative for me, and now that this is done, I miss the process already.

What else to do but start another? Ha, ha.

I call this one: Once Upon A Knight

By the time you read this, the illo might already be available on Zazzle, in the Illustration section. So check it out.
