Fort Worth sketches
Slacking, slacking.... yes, it's been a while since I posted. So here. A recent trip to Fort Worth allowed me a detour through the Botanical Garden, a place I had been wanting to visit.
First, a stop at the Tropical Biosphere.
It was just amazing to walk around in there. Huge plants, very humid, obviously, with several somewhat alien looking plants. Something you might imagine coming out of the latest alien hollywood flick.
This one is the King Fern.
The stalks are actually hairy! And the young growth looked like an embryo, all curled up ready to come crawling out. I'm telling you... alien babies, right there in Fort Worth, Texas!

And then off course, the Japanese Garden.
Beautiful, as all Japanese gardens are prone to be.

Wolverine
The steps to the wolverine illustration done for PencilJack forum.
First the sketches. I picked this one:
Les étapes d'une illustration de Wolverine, faite pour le forum de PencilJacl.
Dabors les sketches. Puis en choisir un:
Then placing another paper on top, a quick trace to try out styles.
Once all the steps have been worked out, I transfer my original sketch onto a watercolor paper, clean out the drawing, ink, and watercolor for final effect. And voila!
In color or in black and white?
En couleur ou en noir et blanc?

Sketches for new book
I am so excited to finally be able to say that the first of a comic book trilogy is at the printer this very moment. A Cappella vol1 is to be printed by Comixpress, a POD online printer.
I am working on book number 2 and here are sketches from the story in progress.

Rebus
This was originaly done for the art blog challenge, but by the time I finished it, the theme had changed! Oh well, it was fun drawing. Can you guess what it says?

Newspaper boy #1 & 2
Here is something I started a little while back.
This first one was done in 2m-3mn tops. A quick doodling kind of sketch that started the idea: a series of the same drawing done in a different style each time -10 total.
Who knows, when it's all done, I envision maybe choosing the best 9 and making one big poster with all of them side by side...
Drawing #2, done right after the first, using a ball pen:

Don't Just Stand There; Blend Something!
This morning's most awsome blend:
a dozen raw organic almonds soaked overnight
1 pear
1 sm banana
handfull frozen blueberries
1 tsp raw cacao nibs (that's raw chocolate, straight from the tree)
1 tsp super green powder
4 leaves curly kale
2-3 Tbl freshly grind flax seeds
2 tsp raw organic coconut oil
water to consistency for thicker pudding with a spoon or more or less liquid smoothie to drink.
I drink half of this for my 6:30am breakfast, and the other half at my 10am break to tie me over till lunch. Hummm! Now you go on and blend you something! ;-)

Day One!
Well, here we go... a blog! Joining the masses, upgrading to the 21st century, becoming one of the many, posting my many little thoughts for all to see, read, digest, break down to the very atom and spit out. Wow...(take a breath here)... Hi. :-)
This is Day One of the Dancing Blender sketchblog. I anticipate posting one to two entries per week with new sketches, doodles, cartoons, comic pages, etc. Whatever happens to be the fancy of the moment. Ride along if you wish, say hi, let me know who you are and what you think.
Here are the first sketches to welcome this little project into this wide wide virtual world:
