The Show That Sold Out

This is the show that pretty much sold out ... The best time I walked in there to find 5 pieces gone! Pieces were flying off the walls so fast I had to make 4 trips in the last 3 weeks to replenish.

When I went to pick them up there were once again empty spots on the wall, and someone walk up to me and bought one right there on the spot as I was packing.

It was amazing!

I wish the same to every artist out there showing their work. It's one of the best feelings in the world.

I showed 2 series: The Great Outdoors (left wall) and Mandala (right wall) series.

We went camping up in the mountains these past couple of days, and I did a quick sketch of our camper.

Stickers

I ordered some stickers from my own zazzle shop, in part to get a feel of the actual product, and in part to give away when I do live shows and art venues.

As it turned out, the quality is very impressive. Thick and slick, with the image very well rendered.
I'll be ordering more in bulk for sure. It's always fun to give something for free at shows. It really makes people's day.

IF - Paisley

Ok, so this is not a pure all out paisley type illustration... I worked this mandala out yesterday and can see a few "paisley" shapes in there, so I opted to go ahead and include it with IF.

The Mandala design is drawn by hand then colored with Photoshop.

Backpacker Design

I cleaned up the backpacker sketch from the last Illustration Friday theme.
This is the marker version. I also did a watercolor version, which I might post later on once I do figure out how... he,  he.

Blogger Changes

Blogger is implementing changes in the way images are displayed on blogs, which basically means that at this moment, I have no idea how to post images!!!!

... not too good for a sketch blog.  :(

New Biker Design

Taking the biker from Aspen Folly illustration, I am creating a set of 4 biker designs for tees and other zazzle products. I've got 2 done so far, with biker2 (red pants) and will work on biker1 (green pants) when I come back from a 4 day little vacation trip.

Biker2 comes with 2 background color scheme. Here's one:

Art Walk In Niwot

I participated in the 1st Friday Art Walk in Niwot, Colorado last month.
I will  not be making it out this month of March, but will most certainly do it again in the coming month, and have the month of July over at the Niwot Cafe, or "Now What Cafe" reserved.

Here's my display of the Outdoors Sports and Fantasy Series.

It was a successful evening and loads of fun visiting with people as they came through. Good hummus too. ;p
