From The Horse's Mouth
From The Horse's Mouth
If you look a couple post prior, you'll see the quick sketch that gave birth to this fun design.
I'm having fun creating a bunch of gear with this and 2 more variations in my Zazzle shop (which you can see more of in the side bar).

IF - Pioneer
This weeks Friday Illustration theme: Pioneers.
Pioneers of their time, here is the Bleriot XI, from very early 1900s.
The sky is actually blue with colored pencil in this illo, though the scanner did not pick it up.

Ready For Color
I like to layout a story when I'm done, just for the satisfaction of seeing it whole. This is the 2nd out of 3 stories for A Cappella v.3, now ready for watercolor.
Notice the feet warmer below the table... no doubt dreaming about his upcoming fame for being a featured character in this story.

My nephew asked me to make him an avatar for his online activity, and since he plays the trombone, it's perfect for this week's Illustration Friday: Music.

A Cappella vol.3 part V
Since the story is now completed -apart for a little cleaning here and there- I will post the rest in color.
Done in watercolor.
And yes, what is white remains white.
Only the backgrounds are colored, along with hair of the main character and a few shadow spots on her clothing. All the rest: white.
Actually makes for a neat overall look. I might post random images from previous books so you can see how each story has a dominant color.

IF - Flying
IF Theme: FLYING.
It occured to me that sometimes while riding my scooter, I feel like I could just take off flying.
This is a little idea I am working on to illustrate that feeling. I actually want to take it a little further into the distortion -not visible enough in this one- to really get the sense of stretching out to reach up into the air.
So, work in progress, and pretty pleased with this first one.

1965 Pontiac GTO
Looking through my sketchbook, I found this 1965 Pontiac GTO I drew a while back, and thought it would look great in my Zazzle shop.
Here is the original drawing, colored with color pencils:
...and, here it is again after redrawing the windshield and a little magic with Photoshop:
Come see it in Zazzle Gallery.

Wind, Vulture, And Death
That's funny that these three symbols should be done together... they could make up a good story, if you think about it a little.
Mayan symbols for: Wind, Vulture, and Death, in that order.

Last of the Mayan Series
Here is the last of the Mayan series, at least for a while. I think I'm over this for now.
It's been a lot of fun drawing and coloring these figures and designs, and now I am ready for something completely different.
These will follow the rest onto my Zazzle Gallery under the "Mayan Designs" category off course.
Oh, and even though I am done drawing this series, I might post a few more of the Mayan Days designs that have not been shown here yet.
Ok, so here goes:
The God Tezcalipoca, a warrior and a woman.
(hmm... did not mean to have the guys come out so small....)

IF - Pattern
It's high time I got back on the Illustration Friday wagon... so I checked in to see what this week's theme was and it's "Pattern."
That immediately got me thinking about a few ink doodle patterns I had in one little book, and went looking for them. I'm glad I did. I think I might play with them as background for other artwork.
Here are my 2 favorite Patterns:
And, with all these leaves and trees, you know Fall is here.
So here is a new Thanksgiving card for the season:
