Urban Sketch Coffee Shop

I got all three books from Steven Reddy from his last Kickstarter campaign and feel inspired. His style is fun, has incredible details, and feels attainable.
I went to the coffee shop this morning to try his technique of on the spot, no-pencil, ink-only approach to drawing.
I didn't get to finish as it was time to go but plan on going back and doing the rest soon.
It was fun doing this in ink and not worrying about making anything perfect, just going with the flow.

Kingfisher Bird Daily Drawing 15

And another, the Kingfisher for drawing 15 of 30.
I worked a little on the postcard format for these birds and they're going to look fantastic. I'll post an example here soon.
The Kingfisher actually has white spots all over it's head, which I didn't do for lack of a white marker... instead I used a silver sharpie, but that didn't really show up well.
I'll see about getting one and adding them on,

This is the Red-Necked Tanager from Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

This "Red-Necked" bird seem to be more orange than red.

I was inspired by another artist's video yesterday to make a goal of drawing a little bit everyday, even if it's only 5 minutes.
My goal then is to do 30 drawings in a row, never missing more than 1 day at a time. So if I miss a day I get back to it the next day. If I miss 2 days I'd have to start the count over.
I sat down in the evening and did this first sketch:
