March Madness Is Upon Us

MARCH MADNESS is upon us!

Our Three Little Birds say:
Join us for an envelope full of goodies!

I've started getting art rewards ready to order for my patrons. After the 1st of March, whomever is on-board will receive a FULL prize envelope, regardless of having just now joined us.

That means ALL the rewards for whatever level you sign up for, PLUS one-time special MARCH MADNESS additional surprises!

To qualify, join our Patreon community between now and Feb. 28th, 2018, or before March 1st membership payments go through.

This is our first quarterly mailing so I plan on making it memorable! It's the best time to jump on-board. There'll be PRINTS, POSTCARDS and VINYL STICKERS to go around.

Our Three Little Birds are coming to a mail box near you for some singing and chirping and to generally brighten up your day.

We're got a Red-Necked Tanager,

a Red Capped Robin...

and a Kingfisher bird, all excited to come meet you in person.

Star Wars show and Trading Cards

We had a very small local show with Star Wars theme Sunday afternoon. I took the basics: stickers, postcards, trading cards and prints, along with a few samples of books. I only wanted to deal with one box, so it had to fit.
I had very little expectation to tell the truth and it actually went very well. Very nice low key event.

The table and the finished trading cards.

Teaching Middle School Art

Yesterday I made a few tokens specifically for my middle school kids.

Kids will earn Tokens for their art work and various classroom participation and glue them in their "art book" that we made earlier this year.

At the end of each semester quarter, we'll count them up and give out prizes.

"You're Awesome" is given out occasionally for kids helping out with gathering textbooks, passing out papers, volunteering to read, great participation, etc.

"Book Smart" is earn for each day we work out of a book with reading and discussion involved.

The "Golden Ticket" is a sneaky fellow! This one is going to be fun to give out. :)

Kids catalog their work into an "Art Book" that we did earlier this year.
They glue in a thumbnail picture of their project (which I take with my phone and print out) and write a reflection on the assignment, how they did and what they learned.

When I take it up to grade, I leave a sticky note to the 3 or 4 kids that did particularly well in their reflection. They exchange that sticky note for a "Golden Ticket" to glue in the book and an immediate small prize (stickers).

I teach in a very poor area and love giving out prizes to these kids.

Denver Comic Con Recap

Another Denver Comic Con attended - my third this year.
It's so much fun to people watch for one thing, and talk to the many wonderful folks attending and stopping by my table to take a look.
I'm going over the inventory of sales and will be posting a few posts of appealed the most.

Stickers are always a BIG item for me. Tons of these little guys move off my table and into good homes.

Here are some of the most popular this year - all done with color pencils, except for the TARDIS which is in watercolor. From the RedBubble site:

Doctor Who Characters Stickers

I received an order of stickers from some of the earlier Who characters - and they are absolutely adorable!
I've done a few more since, which will be uploaded into RedBubble soon, as well as the Who poster I keep talking about - that's on today's ToDo list.

Examples of "Who Math", character sets, and character with bubble quotes:
